IWFCI Membership Terms and Conditions

NOTE: Any reference in these Terms and Conditions to “you” or “your” refers to you as an individual and/or in any representative capacity that you have. The International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry will be referred to as “The IWFCI.’

General Membership Conditions

  1. By submitting a Membership application, you certify that the information supplied is true and accurate.
  2. An application for Membership may be accepted or rejected at the sole discretion of the IWFCI, and without the need for disclosure of any reasons.
  3. Membership with the IWFCI will only come into effect when the IWFCI has notified you that your
    Membership has been accepted and payment of Membership fees has been confirmed. Upon this, the benefits of Membership will commence.
  4. Membership is valid for a period of 12 months from the closest Membership cycle to the commencement of Membership. For example:
    Payment received 16 January to 15 April: 1 April renewal.
    Payment received 16 April to 15 July: 1 July renewal.
    Payment received 16 July to 15 October: 1 October renewal.
    Payment received 16 October to 15 January: 1 January renewal.
  5. Members are required to pay an annual subscription fee. Subscription fees are reviewed annually and may be subject to increase at the discretion of the IWFCI.

Unpaid Membership

  1. By submitting a Membership application, you certify that the information supplied is true and accurate.
  2. An application for Membership may be accepted or rejected at the sole discretion of the IWFCI, and without the need for disclosure of any reasons.
  3. Membership with the IWFCI will only come into effect when the IWFCI has notified you that your
    Membership has been accepted and payment of Membership fees has been confirmed. Upon this, the benefits of Membership will commence.

Refund and Transferability

  1. In the event of an early cessation of Membership, any fee paid for the Membership will not be refunded.
  2. IWFCI Membership and its rights and benefits are for the Member listed on the Membership
    application and are not transferable.

Terminations

  1. A Member may terminate their Membership at any time by providing written notice of the termination to the IWFCI
  2. The termination will take effect from the date it is actioned by the IWFCI. From this date, the IWFCI will cease to provide all Membership benefits and services to the Member.
  3. Upon termination of Membership or any services by a Member, the Member shall pay the IWFCI any outstanding or unpaid amounts owed, even if such service has not yet been provided to the Member.
  4. The IWFCI may terminate Membership immediately, without notice and at its sole discretion, if the Member breaches these Terms and Conditions.
  5. The IWFCI may terminate this agreement and cancel Membership at any time if a Member:
    1. Behaves in an inappropriate manner towards fellow Member’s or staff and office bearers Of IWFCI
    2. Brings the IWFCI or its reputation into disrepute through inappropriate actions and/or communications; and/or
    3. Provides any false or inaccurate information for the purposes of Membership.
  6. The IWFCI shall not be held liable or accountable for any loss or damage arising from exercising
    the right to terminate Membership.

Membership Benefits

Members are entitled and encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities the IWFCI offers, but there is no obligation to use any or all the services offered.

  1. The IWFCI agrees to provide Members with a range of services and benefits as part of the Membership at the sole discretion of the IWFCI.
  2. The details of the various IWFCI Membership packages offered by the IWFCI are provided on the IWFCI website.
  3. Membership prices, benefits or services are subject to change, variation, or cancellation at any time without notice.
  4. The provision of Membership services and benefits is at all times at the sole discretion of the IWFCI.
  5. The IWFCI makes no promise that the benefits and services offered at the time of commencing Membership will continue to be provided to Members by the IWFCI.

Privacy and Data Collection

  1. The IWFCI will maintain a consolidated Register of Members, which will be stored within Australia and as permitted by law.
  2. By becoming a Member of the IWFCI, you consent that the data supplied to the IWFCI may be held in the IWFCI’s computerized database(s).
  3. The IWFCI has the authority to use any personal information provided by the Member in order to administer Membership and provide services and benefits.
  4. One of the core features of the IWFCI is its ability to facilitate introductions and to bring individuals together. For this purpose, Members may be contacted by the IWFCI’s selected partners or sponsors. Members can elect not to be contacted for this purpose by notifying IWFCI in writing.
  5. Members may be regularly contacted by the IWFCI via email, post, social media, website, or telephone. The IWFCI may approach Members with information that the IWFCI believes could be of interest to them, or information that relates to certain Membership benefits, and this is a vital part of the Membership. The communication could relate to services, products, articles, or events. Members can opt-out of this at any time by written notice to the IWFCI.
  6. The IWFCI is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the confidentiality of personal data in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined in the IWFCI Privacy Policy.
  7. Members are subjected to and consent to the IWFCIs Privacy Policy. The full policy on how personal information is used and handled by the IWFCI will vary from time to time at the IWFCI.

Code of Conduct

IWFCI Members must:

  1. Conduct themselves in a manner that does not detract from, or diminish the reputation of, the IWFCI or its Members;
  2. Not abuse, threaten, intimidate, assault or use inappropriate language or behavior towards staff office bearers of IWFCI or other Members;
  3. Not engage in any behavior that could constitute discrimination, harassment or bullying towards staff, or office bearers of IWFCI or other Members; and
  4. Demonstrate respect towards all IWFCI staff, office bearers and other Members at all times.
  5. The expected conduct applies at all IWFCI events, functions, offices, social media platforms, and in all communication with IWFCI staff, office bearers other Members, partners and any stakeholders of the IWFCI.
  6. The IWFCI has the right to terminate Membership and/or remove any or all of the Member benefits and services, without notice, if the IWFCI, in its sole discretion, determines that a Member has breached or may have breached these Terms and Conditions.

IWFCI Memorandum and Articles of Association

  1. Membership of IWFCI is subject to the provisions in the IWFCI Memorandum and Articles of Association.
  2. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and the Memorandum and articles of Association shall prevail.

Changes

  1. No waiver, modification or amendment to any of these Terms and Conditions will be effective against the IWFCI unless the change is in writing and is signed by an authorized person or office bearer of the IWFCI.
  2. The IWFCI can modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without advance notice. Any changes to the Terms and Conditions will be effective immediately either upon written notice or publishing on the IWFCI website. As a Member, you will be bound by all such changes and shall have no right to dispute or challenge any changes.
  3. The IWFCI can make alterations to any services to reflect changes in relevant laws, regulatory requirements, or to implement technical adjustments and improvements.
  4. All Members agree to notify the IWFCI of any changes to your contact details in writing, in order for the IWFCI to continue to successfully provide benefits of Membership to you. The IWFCI accepts no responsibility for any consequences that are caused by your failure to notify the IWFCI of any change to your details.

Serverability

  1. In the event that any of these Terms and Conditions are found to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, then that provision will be considered severable from the remaining Terms and Conditions and will not affect the validity, legality or enforceability of these Terms and Conditions.

Jurisdiction and Governing

  1. Any and all Terms and Conditions of Membership of the IWFCI are governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia.
  2. You agree that any dispute that arises out of or in relation to these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Libalities and Disclaimers

  1. The liability of Members is limited.
  2. The IWFCI shall have no responsibility or legal liability for any advice given by other Members, Sponsors, or third-party service providers, even if such parties have been introduced to the Member by the IWFCI.
  3. The IWFCI shall have no responsibility or legal liability for any loss or damage suffered by a Member, as a direct or indirect result of the use of services and products offered by one of the IWFCI sponsors, Members, or partners.
  4. Any agreement or contract that might be entered into between Members or sponsors are strictly between those parties or entities and not the IWFCI
  5. Members are always encouraged and are expected to conduct their own due diligence when deciding to enter into any agreements, and should seek appropriate independent, professional advice and do so on their own risk and liability.
  6. If an IWFCI employee or office bearer provides any advice to a Member, it shall only be intended as guidance, and should not be relied upon or acted upon as substantive, legal, accounting, or other professional advice and the member shall have no legal recourse.
  7. IWFCI Members provide a guarantee under IWFCI in the event of a winding up. In this event, a Member shall contribute to the property of the IWFCI for the payment of the debts and liabilities of the IWFCI. Each Member is bound by this guarantee, both during Membership and one year after cessation of Membership. The guarantee is limited to one hundred dollars ($100.00 AUD).
  8. The failure of the IWFCI to implement strict compliance with any of these Terms and Conditions, or any delay by the IWFCI in enforcing them, will not constitute a change or waiver of these Terms and Conditions.
  9. The IWFCI will always make reasonable endeavors to ensure the accuracy of information provided to its Members. However, the IWFCI accepts no responsibility and shall have no legal liability for any error or omission in the information provided by the IWFCI, or for any losses or damages caused to the member as a result of the information and for advice being inaccurate.
